Sixteen migrants who formed part of the first caravan trans-gay-migrante marched in the streets of Nogales, Sonora in the middle of the city, where they approached U.S. immigration authorities to seek refugee asylum. Young people from Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico made up the group, who, faced with violence and discrimination in their homelands, started the journey from Central American on July 20, 2017.
